Toveko helps Drum Trading AB with wastewater treatment

Customer: Drum Trading AB

About the customer

The goods to be treated have different shapes, sizes and dimensions and they usually come from several different manufacturers. As a result, the composition of the water varies. Previously, the plant consisted of a precipitation/flocculation and a sedimentation stage. Sudden sludge escapes sometimes occurred and this caused extreme emissions of heavy metals into the municipal sewage system.

Current status

The goods to be treated have different shapes, sizes and dimensions and they usually come from several different manufacturers. As a result, the composition of the water varies. Previously, the plant consisted of a precipitation/flocculation and a sedimentation stage. Sudden sludge escapes sometimes occurred and this caused extreme emissions of heavy metals into the municipal sewage system.

Results

Precipitation and flocculation are carried out using FeCl3. These two steps are followed by a lamella and finally the water is filtered in a Toveko filter. The filter functions as a police filter while reducing the metals in the water. In principle, most of today's industrial purification plants look like this, see the accompanying flow diagram. The incoming water flows gravimetrically from the lamella to the filter. This is a way to optimize the purification result because the microflocs are kept intact because pumping is not applied. In this way, you get maximum separation capacity in the filter.

For this installation an S-75 filter is used. The dimensioned flow for the system is 3.0-3.5 m3/h with a maximum of 5.5 m3/h.
