Toveko helps Dara with sewage treatment

Client: Dara, Almondbank

About the customer

DARA, in Almondbank, near Perth in Scotland, works with the maintenance and repair of helicopters. Integrated with manufacturing is a surface treatment workshop that can handle components with widely different sizes and designs.

Current status

A large number of different types of electrolytic surface treatment in different color versions are available. Within the facility there is a treatment plant that takes care of all waste water before it is sent to the nearby river. The requirements for the waste water are strict and follow by a good margin the limit values set by SEPA (Scottish Environment Protection Agency), i.e. the corresponding Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.

Results

To ensure that the waste water has the lowest possible contamination, a Toveko filter has been installed as a final step before the waste water is released to the receiver.

It is typical for wastewater from surface treatment that SS consists of metal hydroxides. The filter ensures that almost all susp is removed, which is evident from the filtrate's high quality, i.e. low level of impurities. The table below shows the requirements and some actual results on filtered water. The analyzes are carried out by the independent and accredited laboratory AlControl Laboratories.

The Toveco filter ensures for DARA that no emissions are made in addition to the permit that they have for the facility.
